Hello, all!
I'm going to keep this update short and sweet, because there really isn't a lot to say!
I went in to see the kidney doctor this afternoon. Apparently what I have is called "c-ANCA systemic Vasculitis".
No, I don't know what that means either. It doesn't matter, though, because the treatment is the same for all types of vasculitis.
The important "kidney function" numbers that were too high before are dropping. This is a good thing.
My Creatnin levels went from 140 to 127. "Normal" is around 80, so I still have a ways to go, but the pills are doing their job.
My protein count was, at its highest point, 4.3. It is now at 1.6. "Normal" is 0.2, so once again my numbers are high but moving in the right direction.
I have a bone density test scheduled for Friday to see if I can stop taking one of the medications I'm on (yay).
Next blood tests aren't until the 3rd of March (yay!) and next appointment to see the doctor is on the tenth of March.
I've been feeling pretty good lately. My skin has been going crazy and my appetite is approximately equal to that of a herd of lions, but they tell me that this is to be expected with the medications that I'm on. All of my belongings have arrived safely from New Brunswick, and I even have most of them put away (what, Jenn organized? Crazy, I know.).
I don't think I have anything else to report... talk about gross weather lately though! Ick.
Hope this update finds you all well.
